Personal History:

Nicholas’ career, surprisingly, isn’t something he had much choice in. On the contrary, it was something that his parents expected him to do and Nicholas was never one to not follow what they say. His parents wanted this so he could protect what was, essentially, half of who he is—the Muggles and Muggleborns. They had every good intention and love their son dearly, but were adamant about this. He learned to have fun and enjoy being an Auror, however, but still has the slightest bit of resentment over always being told that this was his future.

That aside, Nicholas had a rather happy childhood. He grew up just on the outskirts of a large city, so he was constantly exposed to post wild and ‘civilized’ life. He had horrid luck with most animals that were magical, taking much better to ‘normal’ pets instead. His closest companion, aside from his sister, was a pet dog that he affectionately named ‘Harley’. His childhood also involved attending Muggle primary school, as his parents wanted him to have education in both a magical and non-magical sense. Of course, he enjoyed Hogwarts more than ‘ordinary’ school, but that could be because of the ADD and attention span issues.

He was popular among his peers (something that’s led to a slight ego), but he’s always always been kind and thoughtful towards others. Because of this and his natural ability to be a ‘leader’ to others, he was made a prefect in his fifth year. Along with his prefect duties, he was a Keeper for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, though he never made ‘captain’ status. He was far better at the classes that involved wandwork, such as Charms, Transfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Heck, he was even good at Potions, because that didn’t require sitting and thinking as much. He failed miserably at the bookwork classes, since he was unable to focus properly. Of course, his future had been decided for him long before schooling, so he didn’t see much of a point to those classes….

After leaving Hogwarts, he immediately enrolled himself in Auror training, and found himself enjoying it more than he thought he would. It made him realize he had a love for helping/saving others, and hey! What better way to do it than to be a solider/secret agent of sorts? S, he doesn’t hold much against his parents

Personality:

Nicholas really is an optimistic sort of guy. Though he gets depressed easily, there's always a joke or a smile behind the mope. It seems that he is able to set things aside after moping for long enough, but there are times that the past comes up behind him and really becomes a haunt on the thoughts and ideals he was taught. He has a trait of undeniable happiness after mourning and the ability to set pain aside and accept happiness for at least a while.

But when Nicholas gets moody/sad/depressed, oh does it ever hit hard. He needs outside support to ever even think of getting back to normal, and generally, that help can only come from people that he really loves and respects. He closes himself off from the rest of the world for a good amount of time whenever he gets into these melancholic moods, but the sun eventually does come up again.

Nicholas is very open to others, and has a heart for everyone. If you need a shoulder to cry on, he'll hold you; if you need someone to listen, he'll lend an ear; if you're belly's aching, he'll make you a sandwich; etc. He's not all that shy, and is definitely able to just walk right up to people and start a conversation, or start drilling them with questions as he is known to do. He wouldn't be called an introvert or an extrovert, really. Generally, he's a bit standoffish, for all sorts of reasons, but he's not the quiet type, either.

He also has this thing called way too depressed to function. Other than that, though, he lets his emotions lead him rather than reason: one of the lessons that he either tossed away, or never learned from his father's teaching. He also seems to cloud important facts over with things that he wants to believe, rather than listen to what's really going on.

For whatever reason, despite it all, Nicholas has a tendency to be a huge flirt. While he can be quiet and standoffish, he has a strong weakness for pretty girls.

Nicholas has the nervous habit of chewing his fingernails, though he's been trying his hardest to quit it. His fingernails have never grown past his fingertips, though. Also, when he's been sitting for a long time, or when he's nervously waiting for something, his knees will start to bounce. It's more common for his right knee to start shaking uncontrollably.

Nicholas is tall, but most certainly not to be called lanky. Though he is slightly muscular, there are definitely others that are built sturdier than he is. He stands at a total of six feet and weighs in around 170 lbs depending on the day. His hair is a dark shade of blonde and he has hazel eyes that have the slightest flecks of green in them. He tries to shave as often as he can, but sometimes Nicholas just gets the gruffy sort of look to him -- it's okay, he pulls it off well. All in all, Nicholas is a pretty good-lookin' guy.

Also? Nicholas has freckles to the hoo-hah whenever he even just steps out into the sun. Rather than really put on a decent tan, he freckles as his skin darkens. It's really annoying to him.
